Job summary

The State of Maryland Worcester County Health Department is seeking a full‑time professional nurse to lead the Maternal Child Health program, including reproductive health, MIECH, immunizations, and lead case management. This role involves developing and monitoring budgets in collaboration with supervisors and the Director of Nursing.

You will supervise nursing program staff, represent nursing services on committees, and participate in a 24/7 on‑call rotation for public health emergencies.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in nursing or related field from an accredited college or university.
  • Two years of experience as a Community Health Nurse in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity or one year as a Community Health Nurse and two years in an administrative, supervisory, consultative or teaching capacity as a RN.
  • Notes: substitutions allowed as per job posting.
  • Maryland RN licensure required.

Responsibilities

  • Plan, develop, implement, and evaluate the Maternal Child Health program (including reproductive health, MIECH, immunizations, lead case management).
  • Prepare and monitor program budgets in collaboration with subordinate supervisors and Director of Nursing.
  • Represent nursing services on agency and state committees; supervise nursing program staff.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation for public health emergencies; travel to Worcester County Health Department sites; some evenings/weekends may be required.
