Job summary

Penn State Health is seeking a skilled Nurse Practitioner to join the Surgical Oncology – Urology team in Camp Hill. You will provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for patients with urologic cancers, including preoperative evaluation, perioperative management, and follow-up.

Collaborating with urologic oncologists and a multidisciplinary team, you will participate in inpatient and outpatient care, order tests, educate patients and families, document encounters, and support quality

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and management of surgical oncology patients.
• Conduct patient evaluations, obtain histories, perform physical exams, and develop care plans.
• Collaborate with surgical oncologists and care teams to coordinate treatment planning.
• Manage preoperative and postoperative patient care, including education and recovery monitoring.
• Participate in inpatient and/or outpatient clinical responsibilities as assigned.
• Monitor progress, identify complications, and coordinate appropriate interventions.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests and laboratory studies within scope of practice.
• Prescribe medications and treatments per regulations and policies.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, options, procedures, and recovery.
• Document encounters accurately in the electronic medical record.
• Support quality improvement initiatives, evidence-based practice, and patient safety efforts.
