Banner University Medical Center Phoenix seeks an Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP) to join the Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU. The role focuses on clinical management, procedures, test interpretation, and medication management within a dynamic academic setting.

The ideal candidate may have extensive experience or be a highly motivated new graduate with acute care/trauma exposure. Weekday patient management with rotating weekends/holidays and potential night coverage will be required.

Qualifications

• Current Board Certification in ACNP/ARNP and DEA license required.
• BLS and ACLS certification required; TNCC or ATLS preferred.
• Acquisition of additional procedures within the first year of hire (e.g., bronchoscopy, arterial/central lines, FAST).
• Minimum 3 years of acute care/trauma/TSICU bedside experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Directly manages trauma surgery ICU patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.
• Perform therapeutic and diagnostic procedures and interpret diagnostic tests.
• Prescribe medications and coordinate patient education and consultation.
• Engage in education and research initiatives within a fast-paced academic trauma environment.

Banner - University Medicine Phoenix seeks a dynamic and team-focused Advanced Practice Provider (ACNP) to join our Level 1 Trauma Surgery ICU at Banner University Medical Center Phoenix (BUMCP). BUMCP is the leading accredited and ACS verified Level 1 Trauma Center serving the Greater Phoenix communities with exceptional patient care and empathy. Our advanced practice providers are continually learning, adapting, and detail-oriented in co-managing our trauma surgery ICU patients via a respectful and collaborative setting.

The ideal candidate is experienced and comfortable being involved in clinical management of patients, performing therapeutic and diagnostic procedures, interpretation of diagnostic tests, prescription of medications, education, consultation, and research. This position is also open to highly motivated new graduate APPs with prior acute care, trauma, or ICU experience that enjoy a fast-paced academic environment.

The selected provider directly manages trauma surgery intensive care unit patients on weekdays, rotating weekends/holidays with potential night coverage.

Work Schedule: Full-Time

Location: Banner University Medical Center Phoenix, 1111 East McDowell Road, Phoenix, AZ 85006

First Assist Credentials preferred for ACNPs.

Current Board Certification, DEA license, and BLS/ACLS certification are required.

TNCC or ATLS certification is preferred.

Acquiring procedures/certifications are required within the year of hire (Bronchoscopy, arterial line, central venous line, ultrasound (FAST), chest tube placement, brain death certification)

Minimum of 3 year experience in acute care, trauma, or TSICU bedside experienced preferred

Acquisition of procedure expectations:

• Bronchoscopy
• Central venous line placement
• Basic wound care
• Point of care ultrasound procedures (FAST=focused assessment with sonography for trauma)
• Chest tube placement
• ATLS
