Job summary

Prime Healthcare in Gadsden, AL is seeking a Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner (PRN/Per Diem) for Riverview Pulmonology Associates. The NP provides high-quality pulmonary care across patient ages, supporting physicians and coordinating tests and treatments.

Required: MSN with ARNP specialization, active state NP license in Alabama, BLS, and EHR experience. 1–2 years NP experience preferred. Per diem hours, 8-hour shifts, days. Health insurance options and 401K are offered.

Qualifications

• MSN with ARNP specialization required.
• Active Advanced Practice Nurse license in the state.
• BLS certification required upon hire.
• Experience with electronic health records.
• 1–2 years NP experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide general pulmonary care for patients of all ages.
• Perform tests, take histories, administer treatments.
• Assist physicians and prescribe medications as appropriate.
• Promote health education and patient awareness.

Location: Riverview Pulmonology Associates, Gadsden, AL

A Pulmonary Nurse Practitioner (Pulmonary NP) is an advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) specializing in diagnosing, treating, and managing diseases and disorders of the respiratory system. They work closely with pulmonologists and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive, patient-centered care for both acute and chronic lung conditions.

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities (includes, but not limited to):

• The Nurse Practitioner focuses on providing general care to patients of all ages, with utmost patience, care, compassion and understanding.
• Perform tasks within their scope of practice which may include conducting tests, recording medical histories, providing treatments, assisting physicians and enhancing public awareness on the importance of health, and prescribing medications.

Qualifications

• MSN with specialization as an ARNP
• Current state license as an Advanced Practice Nurse
• BLS upon hire and maintain current
• Previous experience with electronic health record
• One to two years of experience as a nurse practitioner preferred.
