Job summary

Premise Health Inc. seeks a PRN Nurse Practitioner to provide medical care to client employees and dependents at our Myrtle Beach Health Center, SC. This PRN role covers as-needed hours and focuses on occupational health and injury management.

You will perform physicals, order diagnostics, and collaborate with physicians to support safe return-to-work and wellbeing. A strong background in ambulatory or occupational health is required, with applicable state licenses and national certification.

Qualifications

• State RN license to practice.
• NP license to practice.
• State Prescriptive Authority where applicable.
• Federal DEA license for applicable states.
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license as required.
• National certification (ANCC or AANP).
• Master’s Degree in Science of Nursing.
• BLS/ACLS certification required or as per contract scope.
• Occupational health certification (COHN/COHN-S) preferred.
• At least three years of NP clinical experience in ambulatory/occupational health.
• Experience in occupational health site visits and safety collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Ensure regulatory compliance for clinical operations and conduct required physical evaluations (OSHA/DOT/CDC).
• Perform fitness for duty and return-to-work exams when requested.
• Provide care including injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Deliver evidence-based care to injured workers and coordinate with TPA and client for case management.
• Develop and monitor transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Create patient care plans, document progress, and ensure continuity of care.
• Educate patients on treatment plans and health maintenance.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborate with physicians and health-care teams for comprehensive care.
• Coordinate Health Promotion programs with Medical director and client stakeholders.
• Refer patients to specialists as needed and maintain complete medical records.
• Educate and coach nursing staff on best practices.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

The scheduled hours are PRN - as needed.

What You’ll Do

• Ensures compliance with regulatory requirements related to clinical operations and manages required physical evaluations (OSHA, DOT, CDC, etc.).
• Conducts fitness for duty and return to work physical exams as requested.
• Performs procedures such as injections, suturing, wound care, and infection management.
• Provides medically appropriate care to injured workers using evidence-based guidelines, expedites the return to meaningful work, and collaborates with the TPA and client to quarterback case management.
• Implements and monitors transitional duty programs for injured workers.
• Develops patient care plans, records progress, and ensures continuity of care.
• Educates patients on treatment plans, health maintenance, and development.
• Orders and interprets diagnostic tests to assess clinical conditions.
• Collaborates with physicians and healthcare teams for comprehensive care.
• Collaborates with Medical director and client stakeholders on Health Promotion programs, surveillance needs, ergonomics, process development, and other related safety/injury prevention opportunities.
• Refers patients to specialists or physicians as needed.
• Maintains patient health records ensure complete, accurate and up-to-date documentation and records.
• Educates and coaches nursing staff on best practices.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Bring

• Maintains state RN licenses/certificates to practice.
• Maintains NP licenses/certificates to practice.
• Maintains State Prescriptive Authority (if applicable).
• Federal DEA license (matching each state of practice as applicable).
• State Narcotic/Controlled Substance license if required in your state (Alabama, Connecticut, DC, Delaware, Hawaii, Idaho, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Maryland, Massachusetts, Michigan, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Rhode Island, South Carolina, South Dakota, Utah, Wyoming, Puerto Rico) (New York ROPES registration).
• Current national certification (ANCC or AANP required).
• Master’s Degree in Science of Nursing (if Master Degree in Science certificate does not state Nursing on it then a copy of transcripts is required).
• Current certification with hands-on training in AHA, ARC or equivalent Basic Life Support for health care providers is required; Advanced Cardiac Life Support may also be required based on contract scope of services.
• Certification in occupational health (COHN/COHN-S/COHN-S/CM) preferred.
• At least three years of clinical experience as a Nurse Practitioner in an ambulatory care, occupational health, family practice or emergency department setting.
• Experience working in an occupational health setting is preferred.Experience performing site visits and working with safety teams establishing ways to mitigate workplace hazards.
