Job summary

Heartland Family Medicine Rural Health Clinic, part of HCHS, seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver high‑quality care across the lifespan in clinic, hospital, and ED settings. You will diagnose, treat, and educate patients, order tests, and collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure safe, effective care.

The role requires Nebraska NP/PA licensure, BLS/ACLS/PALS/ATLS, and strong clinical judgment with excellent communication.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Nebraska license to practice as NP/PA, in good standing.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications.
• Preferred Master’s degree in nursing or PA studies.
• Minimum two years of clinical experience.

Job description

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) provides diagnostic, therapeutic, and preventive healthcare services to patients across the lifespan. Working collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare team members, the NP/PA obtains medical histories, examines and treats patients, diagnoses illnesses and injuries, orders and interprets diagnostic testing, prescribes medications, and provides patient and family education.This position provides care in the clinic, hospital, and Emergency Department settings.
