Job summary

Ochsner Health System is looking for a qualified Advanced Practice Provider in Louisiana. This role involves primary and urgent medical management, as well as teaching residents and medical students. The position requires a Master’s degree in nursing or a Bachelor’s in Physician Assistant medicine.

Responsibilities include emergency stabilization, developing discharge plans, and collaborating with nurses for patient care evaluation. The ideal candidate will possess strong communication skills and the ability to work within a collaborative model.

Qualifications

• Valid current Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license in the state of practice.
• Family, Adult/Geriatric, or Pediatric Nurse Practitioner certification (ANCC or AANPCP).
• BCLS/ACLS certification; eligibility for prescriptive authority.
• Valid PA license in the state of practice; NCCPA certified.
• Effective communication skills and strong interpersonal skills required.

Responsibilities

• Assume responsibility for primary and urgent medical management.
• Teach residents and develop clinical education sessions.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Advanced Practice Provider policies.
• Develop discharge plans and patient education materials.
• Collaborate with nurses and discharge coordinators to evaluate patient care.
