Job summary

Ochsner LSU Health is seeking a Physician Assistant to collaborate with residents, fellows, attendings, and staff in outpatient care planning and emergency management. The role involves teaching, patient education, and ensuring safe, effective care delivery across departments.

The ideal candidate will hold PA licensure, NCCPA certification, and BCLS/ACLS, with flexibility for travel between facilities and a commitment to ongoing professional development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Physician Assistant medicine or Health Sciences or graduate of an approved Physician Assistant Training Program.
• License as a Physician Assistant in the state of practice; NCCPA certification.
• Eligible for Prescriptive Authority as outlined by the State Board of Medical Examiners.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes the approved medical practices process in the delivery of all patient care.
• Provides care based on physical, psycho/social, educational, safety and related criteria, appropriate to ages of patients served.
• Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes; may develop research methodology.
• Provides education experiences to patient families, staff, other health professionals, and to the community.
• Adapts communication and service delivery to the patient population; respects privacy and determines appropriate explanations.
• Performs other related duties as required.
