Job summary

Bread for the City in Washington, DC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide full-scope primary care within the Medical Clinic, diagnosing, treating, and coordinating care for patients in a collaborative team.

You will perform preventive care, review lab/ECG results, and refer when needed, while supporting organization-wide initiatives and quality improvement projects. Commitment to serving low-income communities is essential.

Qualifications

• BSN from an accredited School of Nursing.
• Successful completion of an approved Nurse Practitioner program.
• Current D.C. license and D.E.A certificate.
• Current Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certificate (CPR).
• Spanish language skills strongly preferred.
• Ability to learn new analytical tools.
• Excellent people skills and ability to work with a diverse staff and clients.
• Must be a team player.
• Ability to work with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner.

Responsibilities

• Provides Bread for the City patients with primary care services within his/her field of training.
• Collaborates with a team of providers to ensure effective coordinated care for all patients.
• Assists with organization-wide efforts and participates as a member of the Bread for the City team.
• Reviews incoming reports and follows up in a timely manner.
• Participates in all-staff meetings and contributes to quality improvement initiatives.
