Job summary

Bread for the City in Washington, DC seeks a Primary Care Physician to provide full scope primary care services, including diagnosis, treatment, preventive care, and care coordination to patients. Qualifications

• Current DC medical license.
• Current DEA certificate.
• Board eligible or board certified in family medicine.
• Current CPR certificate (CPR).
• Ability to work with volunteers in a professional and collaborative manner.
• Familiarity with Google Organization & Productivity Tools (Gmail, Google Docs, Calendar) and/or ability to learn new technology systems.
• Willingness to learn and carry out Bread for the City’s commitments to building a socially just, racially equitable, and gender affirming culture.

Responsibilities

• Obtain health history and perform physical examinations;
• Diagnose, treat, refer when indicated and provide preventive care to all patients;
• Review incoming reports (e.g. lab, x-ray, EKG) and follow-up in a timely manner;
• Comply with the Infection Control plan which includes personally utilizing universal precautions;
• Ensure compliance by support staff;
• Participate in peer review, quality assurance, provider meetings, and other clinical meetings;
• Assist in updating protocols and principles of practice as requested;
• Provide support to other clinical staff as part of a team approach to provide quality care to patients;
• Supervise students in training as assigned by the Medical Director;
