Job summary

AdvantageCare Physicians (ACPNY) is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to provide medical services in collaboration with physicians across primary care and specialty areas in the New York metropolitan region.

Responsibilities include patient history and exams, diagnosing and treating illnesses, prescribing medications, ordering tests, and delivering preventive care. NYS licensure and NP board certification are required; ACLS is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; graduate of an NP program registered by NYS Education Department.
• Master's Degree required; NYS registration as Nurse Practitioner.
• Current NYS RN license and NYS NP registration; NP board certification.

Responsibilities

• Obtains and documents patient history relevant to chief complaint or visit reason.
• Performs relevant physical exams and documents findings.
• Diagnoses and treats disease; manages chronic conditions.
• Prescribes medications per NYS and federal law.
• Orders labs/imaging and interprets results.
• Provides preventative health services and counseling.
• Collaborates with clinicians to ensure continuity of care.
• Performs other duties as required.

Summary Of Position

• Nurse Practitioners provide medical services in collaboration with a physician, for patients in primary care as well as in medical and surgical specialty areas.

Principal Accountabilities

• Obtains and documents patient history as appropriate to chief complaint or reason for visit.
• Conducts relevant physical exam and evaluates patient, documenting pertinent positive and negative findings.
• Diagnoses and treats disease and manages chronic illness.
• Prescribes medication in accordance with New York State and federal law.
• Orders appropriate laboratory, radiological and special examinations or tests; interprets results
• Provides preventative health services, including health education and counseling.
• Collaborates with other clinicians and staff members to ensure continuity of care of patients.
• Performs other job-related duties as required.

Qualifications

Education, Training, Licenses, Certifications

• Bachelor's Degree
• Graduate of a Nurse Practitioner education program registered by the NYS Education Department
• Master's Degree
• Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse by NYS
• Current New York State Registration as Nurse Practitioner
• Current Board Certification as an NP from a NYS approved accrediting body

Relevant Work Experience, Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities

• 1-3 years of related experience
• Experience working with diverse populations in an ambulatory healthcare setting.
• BLS
• ACLS strongly preferred
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
