Job summary

Ochsner Health in Louisiana seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to provide comprehensive patient care within a collaborative outpatient setting. Supervising physicians, PCCs, and nursing staff, you will participate in planning, implementation and evaluation of medical and nursing care across diverse patient populations.

Required are an NP or PA credential with applicable state licensure, and BCLS/ACLS; experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have computer skills and dexterity for data entry and retrieval.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills; ability to present information clearly.
• Proficiency with Windows-style applications and hospital software systems.
• Strong interpersonal skills for team-based care.
• Reliable transportation to travel between facilities.
• Flexible work schedule including 24/7, weekends and holidays as needed.

Responsibilities

• Utilizes approved medical practices in patient care delivery.
• Provides care across physical, psychosocial, educational and safety aspects for patients.
• Maintains inquiry mindset toward outcomes and may contribute to research.
• Provides education to patient families, staff, and community.
• Adapts communication and approach to patient populations while respecting privacy.
• Performs other related duties as required.
