Job summary

Nurse Practitioner (NP) – Primary Care in Galveston, TX for a locum tenens assignment. Four-day work weeks, day shift, no weekends, and a travel stipend may be available for providers traveling from home base.

You will deliver comprehensive primary care, perform assessments, manage acute and chronic conditions, and work with a dedicated care team in a structured clinical setting.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or higher required.
• Active Nurse Practitioner license/certification.
• FNP, AGNP, or NP certification.
• 1+ year of Primary Care experience.
• 1+ year of Care Management experience.
• 1+ year of experience in a qualifying healthcare setting.
• Valid DEA certification/license.
• Current BLS or ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and physical examinations
• Evaluate, diagnose, and treat acute and chronic conditions
• Provide same-day patient evaluations and sick-call coverage
• Develop and monitor individualized treatment plans
• Provide medication, disease-management, and preventive-care education
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation in NextGen EMR
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other members of the care team
• Support continuity of care and positive patient outcomes

Key Responsibilities
