Job summary

ImageCare Radiology in New Jersey is seeking a part-time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our West Orange office. The role supports physicians and technologists, providing patient care, triage, and documentation within state guidelines.

Shifts are 8–10 hours, Monday, Tuesday, Friday, with orientation at Mount Olive. The ideal candidate holds NJ NP/PA licensure, NCCPA certification, BLS and ACLS, and has strong communication and team collaboration skills to deliver high-quality

Qualifications

• NCCPA certification required (or active).
• NJ State license for PA or NP required.
• BLS and ACLS certifications required.
• PALS and DEA registration preferred but not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and prepare them for exam.
• Assist technologists with patient care and education.
• Assist with adverse reactions to contrast injections as needed.
• Document treatment and progress in medical records.
• Perform injections and assist with procedures as trained.
• Return patient calls and coordinate referrals as needed.

SCHEDULE

ImageCare is looking for a Part‑Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our West Orange office. The schedule we are looking to fill is Monday, Tuesday, Friday 8‑10hr shifts. (All new hires are required to attend first‑day orientation at our Mount Olive office before reporting to their assigned work location or training site).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will assist the Physician, Anesthesiologist, or Technologist in providing quality, professional, and knowledgeable medical care to their patients. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty mentioned. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Triage patients and prepare them for exam. Organize and research patient records as needed for daily patient schedule. Treat and care for patients within scope of state medical guideline.
2. Assist Technologist with patient care, treatment and education.
3. Assist Technologist with any adverse reactions a patient might experience with contrast injections (Shortness of breath, Rash).
4. Document in patients' medical record as needed with regards to treatment and progress notes.
5. Perform diagnostic procedures as trained and administer injections. Pre and post procedure teaching. Assist the physician with surgical procedures.
6. Return patients’ phone calls when applicable.
7. Order supplies for exam rooms and ensure that exam rooms are ready for patients.
8. Address patients’ needs and questions as they arise in a professional and courteous manner.
9. Assist with The Breast Center Navigation system with regards to patient follow up, calling referring Physicians as needed.
10. Adheres to the strict guidelines outlined by the AMA regarding safe handling of narcotic medications.
11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION

• NCCPA Certification (Required, if applicable)
• NJ State License: Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner (Required)
• BLS Certification (Required)
• ACLS Certification (Required)
• PALS Certification (Preferred)
• DEA Registration & Controlled Substance Registration Certificate (Preferred, but not required)
