Job summary

ImageCare Radiology in New Jersey seeks a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Jefferson office, Saturdays 8:00am-4:00pm. You will support physicians, anesthesiologists, and technologists in delivering high-quality imaging care across an outpatient setting. The role requires NCCPA certification (or applicable), NJ state licensure as PA/NP, and BLS/ACLS.

Qualifications

• NCCPA Certification is required, if applicable.
• NJ State License as Physician Assistant or Advanced Practice Nurse Practitioner is required.
• BLS Certification is required.
• ACLS Certification is required.
• PALS Certification is preferred.
• DEA Registration & Controlled Substance Registration Certificate is preferred, but not required.

Responsibilities

• Triage patients and prepare them for exam.
• Assist Technologist with patient care, treatment and education.
• Assist with adverse reactions to contrast injections (e.g., shortness of breath, rash).
• Document in patients' medical records regarding treatment and progress notes.
• Perform diagnostic procedures as trained and administer injections; assist physician with procedures.
• Return patients’ phone calls when applicable.
• Order supplies for exam rooms and ensure rooms are ready for patients.
• Address patients’ needs and questions professionally.
• Assist with Breast Center Navigation and refer referring physicians as needed.
• Adhere to AMA guidelines for safe handling of narcotic medications.
• Perform other related duties as required or assigned.

SCHEDULE

ImageCare is looking for a Part-Time Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our Jefferson office. The schedule we are looking to fill is Every Saturday 8:00am-4:00pm. (All new hires are required to attend first-day orientation at our Mount Olive office before reporting to their assigned work location or training site).

GENERAL DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

The Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant will assist the Physician, Anesthesiologist, or Technologist in providing quality, professional, and knowledgeable medical care to their patients. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty mentioned. The requirements listed below represent the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Triage patients and prepare them for exam. Organize and research patient records as needed for daily patient schedule. Treat and care for patients within scope of state medical guideline.
2. Assist Technologist with patient care, treatment and education.
3. Assist Technologist with any adverse reactions a patient might experience with contrast injections (Shortness of breath, Rash).
4. Document in patients' medical record as needed with regards to treatment and progress notes.
5. Perform diagnostic procedures as trained and administer injections. Pre and post procedure teaching. Assist the physician with surgical procedures.
6. Return patients’ phone calls when applicable.
7. Order supplies for exam rooms and ensure that exam rooms are ready for patients.
8. Address patients’ needs and questions as they arise in a professional and courteous manner.
9. Assist with The Breast Center Navigation system with regards to patient follow up, calling referring Physicians as needed.
10. Adheres to the strict guidelines outlined by the AMA regarding safe handling of narcotic medications.
11. Perform any other related duties as required or assigned.

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION
