Job Title:

Nurse Practitioner (NP)/Physician Assistant (PA) - Spine

Reports to:

Dr. Basques

General Summary Of Duties

University Orthopedics is seeking a full-time, dynamic, and motivated NP/PA to join our Spine Division. This high-volume practice handles spine, sports, and joint procedures. The NP/PA will evaluate and manage patients with musculoskeletal complaints and acute/chronic conditions, both nonoperatively and with procedures.

Essential Job Functions
  1. Maintain an independent schedule and evaluate patients independently or under physician supervision.
  2. Perform routine outpatient procedures.
  3. Assess, diagnose, and treat patients with acute and chronic conditions.
  4. Assist physicians in examining and diagnosing skeletal and joint issues.
  5. Order, interpret tests, and recommend treatments.
  6. Administer injections as indicated.
  7. Provide post-procedure patient care and follow-up.
  8. Consult on pharmaceutical or interventional treatments.
  9. Write prescriptions and provide patient education.
  10. Evaluate imaging such as X-ray, CT scan, and MRI.
  11. Perform other duties as needed and may travel to other UOI sites.
Requirements
  1. Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Rhode Island.
  2. Minimum 2 years of NP/PA experience, orthopedic experience preferred.
  3. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  4. Professional, courteous, and enthusiastic demeanor.
  5. Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  6. Attend meetings and participate in committees as required.
  7. Engage in ongoing professional development.
