Nurse practitioners (NP) provide health care services to patients with acute, episodic, or chronic conditions, as well as those seeking health evaluations, preventive care, education, and counseling. They perform physical examinations, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop comprehensive care plans. NPs assume ongoing responsibility for patient care from diagnosis to recovery, managing both chronic and episodic disorders. They document health care plans and diagnoses thoroughly for review and ensure culturally sensitive, high-quality service.
Experience: Minimum one (1) year of relevant clinical experience, unless specified otherwise.
Education: Graduate of an accredited RN and NP program or PA program; Masters Degree in Nursing (NP) or equivalent for PAs.
Licenses & Certifications: California Nurse Practitioner Furnishing Number, National Certification, RN License, or California Physician Assistant License, National Provider Identifier, BLS, ACLS, PALS as applicable. DEA registration if applicable.
