Pay Range

$31.55 / hr - $45.74 / hr

Position Summary

The Specialty Physician Coder reviews and analyzes specialty coding and billing for charge processing. Responsibilities include accurate coding of office, hospital, and surgical procedures, ensuring compliance, and working with the Coding Compliance Manager on coding trends and irregularities.

Qualifications

Work Experience

• At least 3 years of experience as a medical coder in a hospital or physician’s office, with physician interaction.
• Minimum 1-year experience as a specialty coder in Cardiology or related fields such as Gastroenterology, Hematology/Oncology, OBGYN, Pulmonology, or Radiation Oncology.
• Expertise in ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding.
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and physiology.
• Epic software experience is highly desirable.

Education / Licensure / Certification

• High School diploma or GED.
• Certification such as CPC, CCS, or equivalent.
• Specialty coding certification is highly preferred.
