Job summary

UMass Memorial Health in Worcester, MA is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join the Ophthalmology & Visual Sciences team in a full-time, on-site role.

The APP will conduct patient evaluations, perform ophthalmic examinations, and collaborate with ophthalmologists and clinical staff to deliver exceptional eye care in a fast-paced academic setting. Licensure in MA and NCCPA certification required; ophthalmology experience preferred.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program.
  • Massachusetts Medical License with national certification (NCCPA), DEA and CSR.
  • Prior ophthalmology experience preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct patient evaluations and obtain comprehensive medical histories.
  • Perform ophthalmic examinations and assessments under established protocols.
  • Perform IV fluorescein angiography (IVFA) and venipuncture as required.
  • Assist with medication refills and patient triage.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic testing and collaborate with physicians.
