Job Description
The Site Lead Advanced Practitioner Physician’s Assistant (PA) or Nurse Practitioner (NP) will support International SOS in providing comprehensive medical care to US government employees and contractors in Iraq. This role involves patient care, leadership, and administrative responsibilities, ensuring efficient clinic operations and excellent patient outcomes. The Site Lead oversees clinic operations, personnel, quality management, and administration in collaboration with the project manager.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead and oversee medical staff at a Directorate of Simulation (DOS) and DOS clinics.
  2. Collaborate with on-site physicians, physician assistants, and support staff for seamless patient care.
  3. Assess and stabilize patients requiring urgent or emergent care.
  4. Provide primary and continuing care for a wide range of health concerns.
  5. Offer health promotion, disease prevention, patient education, diagnosis, physical exams, vaccinations, and STD testing.
  6. Manage simple chronic conditions through monitoring.
  7. Consult with other healthcare professionals.
  8. Maintain compliance with all procedures, standards, and training requirements.
  9. Coordinate with medical evacuation teams for patients needing care beyond the clinic’s capabilities.
  10. Participate in MASCAL exercises.

Qualifications

Basic Requirements/Certifications:

  • Full unrestricted U.S. State Licensure, Certification, or Registration in the US.
  • Certified in ACLS or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 years’ recent leadership experience.
  • At least 6 months of direct patient care in the past year.
  • Leadership experience in remote/austere environments preferred.
  • Proficiency in English, Microsoft Office, and EMR.
  • Experience working on military sites as a subcontractor or prime contractor is preferred.

Education:

  • Graduate of accredited American Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner programs with NCCPA or AANP/ANCC certification.

Physical Requirements:

  • Meet pre-deployment physical requirements.
  • Ability to sit and stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 30 lbs.

Other Qualifications:

  • US Citizen or Permanent Resident.
  • Willing to relocate to the project site.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (MRPT preferred).
  • Valid US passport required, with ongoing validity during stay in Iraq.
