Job summary

UW Health in Madison, Wisconsin is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to join our inpatient and ambulatory care teams, delivering high-quality, cost-effective care.

The role supports Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant pathways, caring for general and intermediate populations, educating patients and families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team on cardiac surgery patients across the care continuum. On-site work schedule applies.

Qualifications

• Master's or Doctorate from accredited Nursing Program (NP path).
• Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.
• Active RN and APRN licenses and prescriptive authority in state(s) of practice, and active board certification as NP or PA.

Responsibilities

• Care for general care and intermediate care patient populations.
• Provide care and education to patients and their families on wellness care and treatment plans.
• Intervenes in acute episodes and collaborates with a multidisciplinary team to care for cardiac surgery patients throughout the spectrum of care.
• Maintain active DEA license or ability to apply prior to or upon hire.

Job Description

Work Schedule:
100% FTE. 4-10 hour shifts per week. Hours are 7:00 am- 5:00 pm. Weekend rotation 1:3.5, rotating holiday coverage, and night call from home 1:6.

As an Advanced Practice Provider, you'll play an integral role in our inpatient and ambulatory care teams by providing high-quality, cost-effective care to patients.

We are seeking a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant to:

• Care for general care and intermediate care patient populations
• Provide care and education to patients and their families on wellness care and treatment plans for health disorders, and intervenes in acute episodes.
• Work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team of advanced practice providers to care for cardiac surgery patients throughout the spectrum of their care.

Education:

• If Nurse Practitioner: Master's or Doctorate's degree from accredited Nursing Program.
• If Physician Assistant: Bachelor's or Master's degree from accredited PA Program.

Licenses and Certifications:

• Minimum – State of Wisconsin NP or PA licensure.
• Active RN and APRN certifications and licenses, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active board certification as a NP in area of clinical practice. These may include the following: Adult/Gerontology Acute Care Adult.
• Active PA license, including prescriptive authority, in state(s) of practice AND
• Active PA board certification.
