Job summary

Spectrum Healthcare Resources has a potential opportunity for a civilian Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant Extender to support McDill Air Force Base in Tampa, Florida.

This full-time position offers a typical Monday–Friday schedule from 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM with no nights, weekends, holidays, or on-call responsibilities. Benefits are provided, and a strong emphasis is placed on care coordination and preventive services.

Qualifications

• Master of Social Work degree (MSW) or equivalent.
• Active state license to practice as a LCSW.
• Two years full-time experience in care coordination, discharge planning or case management in a medical setting within the last four years.
• BLS and ACLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of provider services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF, including screening and medical care for routine, acute and chronic conditions across organ systems; immunizations; diagnosis and treatment.
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to junior staff; participate in in-service training.
• Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses or minor trauma within protocols and with physician consultation as needed.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance through education and counseling.

Job Requirements:

• Masters of Social Work degree

Job duties include but limited to:

• Provide a full range of outcome-based provider services in accordance with privileges granted by the MTF (e.g., supervise and provide general screening and medical care and examinations of patients for routine, acute and chronic conditions involving any and all organ systems; provide immunizations; diagnose, treat, and counsel patients as indicated).
• Provide clinical guidance and mentorship to junior staff, provide and participate in in-service training to staff members.
• Diagnose and treat patients with common acute conditions, chronic illnesses, or minor trauma within accepted protocols, clinical practice guidelines, Nurse Practice Acts, and/or in consultation with a physician.
• Promote preventive care and health maintenance including annual physicals, positive health behaviors and self-care through both formal and individual education and counseling.
