Job summary

Ocean State Job Lot is seeking a dynamic Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to deliver high-quality care in our Emergency Room. The clinician will assist physicians in patient assessment, triage, and treatment following established protocols.

Candidates should demonstrate strong clinical skills, adherence to safety standards, and the ability to interpret and apply guidelines in emergency situations. This role requires on-site work in the ER setting.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of professional nursing theory, practice, and medical care to give and evaluate patient care.
• Knowledge of organizational policies, regulations and procedures to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of medical equipment and instruments to administer patient care.
• Knowledge of common safety hazards and precautions to establish a safe work environment.

Provides primary care to patients acting as an assistant to physicians in theEmergency Roomfollowing established standards and practices/protocols .

• Skill in applying and modifying the principles, methods, and techniques as a professional health care provider; in taking medical history to assess medical condition and interpret findings;
• Skill in preparing and maintaining records, writing reports, and responding to correspondence;
• Skill in developing and maintaining department quality assurance, in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with patients, medical staff, and the public;
• Ability to maintain quality control standards and ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations;
• Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures and to communicate clearly .
