We are hiring experienced Cardiothoracic Nurse Practitioners / Physician Assistants in a level one trauma center in Downtown Chicago, Illinois!

This is a 100% Inpatient Cardiac Surgery Critical Care position working in the ICU and Step Down Care in a very high acuity Heart Surgery team!

Each individual provides care for cardiac surgery patients that underwent various cardiac surgery procedures, including various versions of mechanical circulatory support.

Schedule: Combination of 4 10s and 3 12s!

Qualifications

Required:

1. Master’s degree from an accredited school/college of nursing OR master's degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program.
2. Acute care certification required for APRNs.
3. Eligible Current license as a Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Current license as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse in the State of Illinois. Certification as an Advanced Practice Registered Nurse by a national certifying body as approved by the Illinois Department of Regulation APRN Board. Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number OR Master’s degree from an accredited Physician Assistant Program/Current license as a Physician Assistant in the State of Illinois. Once licensed may apply for a controlled substance license and DEA number.
4. Cardio-Pulmonary Resuscitation – BLS, issued by the American Heart Association.
5. Minimum of one (1) year APP experience managing complex cardiac surgical patients required.
