Job summary

Wentworth-Douglass Hospital, part of Mass General Brigham Heart and Vascular Institute, seeks a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for its Cardiology team. The position provides as-needed, day-shift coverage on the inpatient team, primarily Saturdays, with open 8-hour shifts during the week. Location is onsite at 19 Old Rollinsford Road.

Pay ranges from $59.04 to $83.59 per hour. Requirements: Master’s Degree in Nursing; RN license preferred; NP/APRN license preferred; 0–1 year

Responsibilities

• Provide direct care, counseling, and education in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.

• Order, interpret, and evaluate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop plans of care and follow-up based on results.
• Order medications and write prescriptions per policies.
• Document admissions, progress, and discharge notes.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate.

We are seeking a Per Diem Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for our dynamic Cardiology team.

This position provides as‑needed, day‑shift coverage on the inpatient team at Wentworth‑Douglass Hospital, primarily on Saturdays and on open 8‑hour shifts during the week. It offers flexibility, autonomy, teamwork, and an opportunity to provide high‑quality, compassionate care to a comprehensive patient‑centered cardiovascular program.

Essential Functions

• Provide direct care, counseling, and education to a designated patient population in ambulatory, inpatient, operative, and procedural settings.
• Perform complete histories and physical examinations.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests.
• Develop appropriate plans of care and follow‑up based on diagnostic and examination results.
• Order medications and write prescriptions in accordance with organizational and regulatory policies.
• Consistently provide high‑quality, timely documentation, including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes, and discharge summaries.
• Perform bedside procedures as appropriate to the patient population.

Qualifications

Education: Master’s Degree in Nursing required.

Licenses and Credentials: Registered Nurse (RN) – State License preferred; Nurse Practitioner (NP) / Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) – State License preferred.

Experience: 0–1 year as a nurse practitioner preferred; previous cardiology experience required.
