Bighorn Ridgerunners, LLC is seeking a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician to provide on-site medical care at the Jacobs Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Bristol, Tennessee. This is a steady, part-time role with a predictable schedule, well suited to a provider in the Tri-Cities area who wants meaningful work alongside an existing practice.

Qualifications

• Active Tennessee license to practice as NP/PA/MD/DO.
• National board certification (AANP/ANCC for NP; NCCPA for PA; physician cert or eligible).
• DEA registration for Tennessee, Schedules II–V.
• Professional liability insurance of at least $1 million.

Responsibilities

• Take intake physicals and create treatment plans for new students.
• Treat minor illnesses, injuries, acute conditions; provide first aid and CPR.
• Manage chronic care, immunizations, health promotion; prescribe meds with coordination.
• Refer patients, document in health records, participate in health meetings and reviews.

We're looking for a Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant or Physician to provide on-site medical care at the Jacobs Creek Job Corps Civilian Conservation Center in Bristol, Tennessee. Job Corps is a federal education and job-training program for young people aged 16 to 24. This is a steady, part-time role with a predictable schedule, well suited to a provider in the Tri-Cities area (Bristol, Kingsport, Johnson City) who wants meaningful work alongside an existing practice.

Schedule: About 400 hours a year, typically one or two days a week, Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM, set with the center's Health and Wellness Director. No nights, weekends, call or federal holidays. Anticipated start January 11, 2027, with a one-year contract and up to four option years.

What you'll do

• Intake physical exams and treatment plans for new students
• Treat minor and episodic illness, injuries and acute conditions; first aid and CPR
• Chronic care management, family planning, immunizations and health promotion
• Prescribe controlled and non-controlled medications, coordinating with the center's substance abuse and mental health counselors
• Make referrals, document in the student health record, and take part in center health meetings and quality reviews

Requirements

• Active, unrestricted Tennessee license to practice: NP, PA or MD/DO
• National board certification (NP: AANP or ANCC; PA: NCCPA; physician: board certified or eligible)
• DEA registration for Tennessee, Schedules II–V
• Professional liability insurance of at least $1 million (we can discuss coverage)
• NPs and PAs: an existing Tennessee supervising/collaborating physician is a plus. If you don't have one, we can arrange it.
• Primary care, urgent care, family practice, college health or adolescent health experience preferred
• Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug screen
