Job summary

Indiana University Health is seeking a Nurse Practitioner to join the Orthopedic Hand team in Lafayette, IN. The Hand clinic will see patients with hand and upper-extremity conditions, under the supervision of one hand surgeon.

The role involves outpatient evaluation, injections, wound care, and coordinated post-op follow-up. Ideal candidates hold ACNP or AGNP credentials, a Master's degree, and a strong orthopedic background.

Qualifications

• Master's degree required.
• ACNP or AGNP certification.
• Strong background in orthopedics/hand surgery or a procedural outpatient specialty.
• Experience evaluating and treating common hand conditions (e.g., carpal tunnel, trigger finger, fractures).
• Comfort with injections, splinting, wound care, imaging review, treatment planning, and patient education.
• New grads with relevant orthopedic rotations may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Outpatient evaluation and treatment of hand, wrist, and upper-extremity conditions.
• Complete history and physicals, review imaging, diagnose, and develop treatment plans.
• Perform injections, splinting, wound care, and manage postoperative follow-ups.
• Educate patients, coordinate referrals and therapy, and document care.
• Collaborate closely with the hand surgeon and clinical team to support patient flow and high-quality care.
