Salaried.GENERAL SUMMARYThe Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is professional staff member, who provides healthcare, evaluation and treatment to patients. The Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner is under the collaborative supervision of the physician.GIBSON AREA HOSPITAL & HEALTH SERVICES MISSION STATEMENTTo provide personalized, professional healthcare services to the residents of the Communities we serve.PRINCIPLE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES1. Practice under the supervision of the clinic’s medical direction.2. Perform physical examinations, laboratory tests and health screening measures.3. Teach patients all aspects of health care.4. Counsel patients and families on family issues as appropriate.5. Refer patients to other health care providers or community agencies when and as appropriate.6. Contribute to devising, executing, and periodically reviewing written policies/clinical protocols governing the services provided by the clinic.PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS1. Physical strength to perform CPR (bed/floor), lift, push/pull 60-300 pounds with assistance) as often as 20 times per 8-12 hours and perform, constant walking, twisting, turning, and stretching maneuvers in patient care and use of patient care equipment.2. Must possess appropriate certification and degree from a United States Institution of Higher Education.3. Must be licensed to practice in the State of Illinois prior to beginning employment.4.
