Job summary

MRG Exams seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform disability assessments for United States Veterans as part of the VA benefits process. You will review medical records electronically and conduct focused in-person examinations at each Veterans’ visit.

This role does not involve prescribing or determining disability; you will document findings in the VA portal and travel to assigned locations, performing 3–5 assessments daily.

Qualifications

• Licensed in at least one US state with portability to others as needed.
• Experience with Independent Medical Assessments is preferred.
• Ability to analyze medical records and exam findings to form medical opinions.

Responsibilities

• Perform disability assessments on US Veterans via portal review and focused physical examination.
• Document exam findings in the VA-required format through the web portal.
• Ensure decisions are rendered by VA; this role does not determine disability or prescribe medications.
• Travel to assigned locations; conduct 3–5 assessments per day; in-person work required.

We are looking for the right Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to perform medical assessments on United States Veterans as part of the VA's disability benefits process.

In performing Disability Assessments, you will review medical records electronically through a web portal and perform a focused, in-person physical exam on each Veteran.

You will electronically document the exam findings required by the VA through the web portal.

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant DOES NOT make disability determinations. The United States Veterans Administration makes all disability determinations.

This role ONLY performs Disability Assessments on Veterans. You will NOT treat, and you will NOT prescribe medication in this position.

This position conducts Disability Assessments on 3-5 Veterans average per day.

This is an IN-PERSON position.

Travel requirements:

We would need you to commit to at least two weeks of travel each month.

Travel to assigned location Sunday evening, return to home city Friday evening or Saturday morning.

*This will be primarily a role performing Incarcerated Exams throughout Virginia, but could be opportunities for nationwide travel secondarily when there are openings in the Incarcerated schedule.
