UAHSF in Birmingham, Alabama, is looking for a dedicated Advanced Practice Provider for the Acute Care Surgery team. This role is focused on providing medical care and treatment in an acute care setting, coordinating patient care, and performing comprehensive assessments.
The ideal candidate will possess a valid Alabama license and experience in surgical ICU settings. The position is full-time with a PM shift, requiring weekends and holidays. A competitive salary structure includes a $20,000 PM stipend and annual CME allowance.
Work schedule: Full-time. 12hr PM shift: 5pm–5am. 14–16 shifts per month. Weekends and holidays required.
PM Stipend: Base salary plus $20,000PM stipend (paid monthly – $1,666.67).
Annual CME allowance: $2,000.00 for recertification, fees, CMEs, etc.
Provide medical care and treatment within the established scope of practice to acute care services and emergency medicine patients as assigned by and under the direction of the collaborating physician. Coordinate plan of care, discharge, and specialty referrals. Perform comprehensive physical examinations and assessments. Interpret lab and diagnostic tests. Assist the physician with procedures per collaborative agreement. Coordinate and participate in performance improvement activities.
Applicants must be an advanced practice provider (Adult Acute Care Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant) with a valid Alabama license, a collaborative practice agreement, and a proven ability to work within a multidisciplinary acute care team. Additional qualifications may include prior surgical ICU experience, proficiency in ventilator management, and commitment to continuous professional development.
