Job summary

Crescent City Physicians, Inc. is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join our ICU team on a PRN basis, covering day and night shifts with a high‑acuity patient population.

Qualifications

• Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited NP or PA program.
• Current, unrestricted Louisiana NP or PA license.
• BLS and ACLS required; ACNP/CCNP and CCRN preferred.
• Minimum two years of ICU experience as NP/PA/RN with critical care patient management.
• Strong clinical decision-making, communication, and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of critically ill patients and develop treatment plans.
• Collaborate with physicians, nurses, therapists, and other team members; ensure smooth handoffs.
• Assist with and perform advanced bedside procedures (intubations, central lines, arterial lines).
• Prescribe and manage medications; titrate as needed and initiate emergencies.
• Monitor patient status, interpret labs/imaging, and document thoroughly in the EMR.
• Educate patients and families about treatment plans and prognosis.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and safety programs.

Acute Care Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant – ICU (Days & Nights PRN)

Crescent City Physicians, Inc. is seeking experienced Advanced Practice Providers to join our Intensive Care Unit team on a PRN basis.

Key Responsibilities

• Patient Assessment & Management: Perform comprehensive evaluations of critically ill patients, develop and modify individualized treatment plans, manage acute and chronic conditions to ensure optimal outcomes.
• Collaborative Care: Partner with physicians, nurses, respiratory therapists, and other team members; facilitate seamless transitions of care during shift changes and handoffs.
• Procedures & Interventions: Assist with and perform advanced bedside procedures including intubations, central venous line placements, arterial line insertions, and other critical care procedures within scope of practice.
• Medication Management: Prescribe and manage medications as permitted by licensure; titrate critical care medications and initiate emergency interventions when appropriate.
• Monitoring & Documentation: Continuously assess patient status, interpret laboratory and diagnostic results, and maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in the electronic medical record.
• Patient & Family Education: Communicate effectively with patients and families regarding treatment plans, prognosis, and ongoing care needs; provide compassionate support during critical situations.
• Quality Improvement: Participate in quality initiatives, evidence‑based practice projects, and support departmental goals related to safety and operational excellence.

Qualifications

• Education: Master’s or Doctoral degree from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program.
• Licensure: Current, unrestricted Louisiana Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant license.
• Certifications: BLS and ACLS certifications from the American Heart Association (required). ACNP or CCNP certification (preferred). CCRN certification (preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of critical care experience as an NP, PA, or RN; demonstrated experience managing critically ill patients in an ICU setting.
• Skills & Competencies: Strong critical thinking and clinical decision‑making; excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proficiency in advanced critical care procedures; ability to work independently and effectively in a high‑acuity environment; commitment to patient‑centered care and teamwork.

Work Shift

Variable hours, including days and nights on a PRN basis.
