Job summary

YMCA Greencastle seeks a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to work in collaboration with physicians in an urgent care setting. Responsibilities include ordering tests, interpreting results, prescribing medications, and advising on treatment plans for both pediatric and adult patients.

The role requires a Master’s degree, an active RN license, and APRN licensure. PRN/seasonal schedule with day shifts and potential evenings/weekends, reporting to the Prompt Care department head.

Qualifications

• Licensed NP with active RN license and APRN licensure
• 3+ years of clinical experience in urgent care or emergency medicine
• Graduate of an accredited Master’s Degree level Family Nurse Practitioner program
• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing with APRN certification
• Comfortable with technology and electronic health records

Responsibilities

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Plan and initiate appropriate treatment and adjust as necessary
• Prescribe medications as clinically indicated
• Document medical information and review patient history at each visit
• Evaluate treatment responses and adjust plans accordingly
• Coordinate consultations or referrals with other healthcare providers
• Counsel and educate patients and families
• Manage pediatric and adult patients for acute and chronic conditions
• Develop and contribute to patient care plans
• Stay updated with current medical evidence and trends
• Provide cross-coverage for lab result reviews and prescription clarifications
• Schedule flexibility to include evenings and weekends

Requires a master's degree. Reports to manager or head of the Prompt Care department.

PRN Position

Duties/Responsibilities

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests as needed
• Determine, plan, and initiate appropriate treatment, and adjust treatment if necessary
• Prescribe medications
• Document medical information of patients and review patient history at each visit
• Evaluate response to treatments and medications
• Request consultation or referral with other health care providers when appropriate
• Counsel and educate patients
• Manage pediatric and adult patients for both acute and chronic conditions
• Create patient care plans and contribute to existing care plans
• Actively maintain knowledge of current medical research and trends
• Provide administrative support or cross-coverage for reviewing laboratory test results and prescription clarifications
• Scheduling flexibility to include evenings and weekends
