Job description

A physician-owned primary care practice in the Maryland suburbs of Washington, DC is hiring an NP or PA to care for an adult patient panel that is largely Korean-speaking. Korean fluency is a functional requirement here, not a nice-to-have — a significant share of visits, from history and exam through counseling and family discussion, are conducted in Korean. The practice is established and physician-led, and welcomes candidates at any stage of their advanced practice career.

Why You'll Love This Opportunity

Language-concordant care is the practice model, not an add-on — you'll practice in Korean as a matter of course, with the clinical depth that allows, rather than switching languages or working through an interpreter. New graduates are genuinely welcome, with formal onboarding and an on-site physician owner; five or more years of RN experience also counts toward the experience they're looking for. Flexibility for the right candidate: onsite by default, but hybrid or telehealth days are open to discussion, along with a negotiable sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance. Maryland licensure and continuing education costs are covered by the employer, along with malpractice coverage. Compensation rewards productivity, with a bonus on top of a competitive base and room above the range for more experienced candidates.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide primary care to an adult patient panel (18+), conducting visits in Korean where that's the patient's preference.
  • Diagnose and manage acute presentations and chronic conditions, including hypertension, diabetes, hyperlipidemia, and thyroid disease.
  • Perform annual wellness visits, preventive screening, and health maintenance.
  • Order and interpret labs and imaging, and coordinate specialty referrals.
  • Deliver medication and lifestyle counseling in Korean, tailored to the patient.
  • Document accurately and on time in eClinicalWorks.
  • Collaborate with the physician owner and provider team on complex cases.
Required Qualifications
  • Advanced or native Korean fluency — a hard requirement, no substitutions.
  • Active Maryland APRN or PA license, or eligibility to obtain one (single state only).
  • FNP board certification or PA-C certification.
  • Active DEA registration.
  • Current ACLS and BLS.
  • Comfort caring for an adult population (18+).
  • A compassionate, relationship-focused approach — the practice is looking for someone who treats patients like family.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior primary care experience as an NP, PA, or ambulatory-care RN.
  • Experience with eClinicalWorks.
  • Experience serving first-generation immigrant patients or in a language-concordant care setting.
  • Interest in building a long‑term panel rather than a short‑term role.
Compensation and Benefits
  • Base salary of $125,000-$150,000, with roughly 5-10% flexibility and room above the range for candidates with 5+ years of experience.
  • Productivity bonus included.
  • Sign‑on bonus and relocation assistance, both negotiable.
  • Medical, dental, and vision insurance.
  • Maryland licensure costs and continuing education covered by the employer.
  • Malpractice coverage included.
  • Formal onboarding program.
