Job description

IU Health Medical Group Metro Region is seeking a Family Nurse Practitioner to join our Primary Care team at IU Health Family Medicine Eagle Highlands in Indianapolis!

Position Details:

  1. Full-time, Days
  2. No weekends, holidays, or call, allowing for work/life balance
  3. Varied Schedule, 32.4 Patient Accepting Hours/Week; Typically 4 full days, 1 day out of office
  4. 100% outpatient
  5. Expected patient volume is 70/week, adult and pediatric
  6. Team includes 6 physicians and 1 advanced practice provider

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Assess health status through obtainment of relevant health history and comprehensive physical exam, preventative screening, and identification of medical risk factors.
  2. Formulate appropriate differential diagnosis and identification of individual, family, and community needs.
  3. Develop treatment plan to maximize the health potential of the individual, family, and/or community.
  4. Order and adjust medication per collaborative written agreement and prescriptive authority in accordance with the Indiana Nurse Practice Act, or in consultation, with the signature of a physician.
  5. Direct the development, implementation, and evaluation of standards for nursing practice.
  6. Serve as a clinical resource for nursing staff, physicians, hospital, and other healthcare providers.
  7. Serve as an advocate for patients, staff, and management.
  8. Assist in the assessment of clinical nurses' performance and validate clinical competencies.
  9. Demonstrate knowledge of growth and development over the lifespan.
  10. Provide prompt and professional medical attention to patients without regard to race, creed, color, gender, national or ethnic origin, age, or disability.
  11. Manage acute and long-term care of the patient.
  12. Maintain documentation in accordance with IU Health and IU Health Physicians policies, standards, and regulatory guidelines.
  13. Expand and maintain professional knowledge through continuing medical education.
  14. Complete all competencies as required by IU Health.
  15. Perform other duties as assigned.
