Job summary

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team in Minneapolis, MN. The role focuses on coordinating and delivering care for patients with various liver conditions, performing exams, ordering tests, and managing treatment plans in a collaborative setting.

Ideal candidates hold an accredited NP or PA program degree, MN RN license with prescriptive authority (or PA license with prescriptive authority) and ANCC/AANP or NCCPA

Qualifications

  • Graduate of accredited NP or PA training program.
  • MN RN license with prescriptive authority or PA license with prescriptive authority.
  • Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet credentialing qualifications.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and facilitate care for patients with liver conditions.
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify health problems.
  • Recommend treatment and prescribe medication.
  • Consult with physicians and make referrals as needed.

Job description

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team in Minneapolis, MN.

  • Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients with a variety of liver conditions.
  • Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
  • Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
  • Recommend treatment and prescribe medication.
  • Consult with physicians (as needed) and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.

Location: M Health - Fairview Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.

Schedule: 1.0 FTE Weekdays

Qualifications:

A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult, Adult/Gero, Acute Care, or FNP Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient PA or NP in hepatology. New graduates will be considered.
