University of Minnesota Physicians seeks an enthusiastic, independent Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a growing Urology team in the Twin Cities. Qualifications

  • A graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant or formal Adult Nurse Practitioner training program.
  • Eligible or certified through NCCPA, ANCC or AANP.
  • Licensed or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice (PAs) or MN APRN license or eligible to acquire a license and prescriptive authority through MN Board of Nursing (NP’s).
  • Able to meet threshold criteria/qualifications for credentialing and privileges.
  • Preference will be given to those with female pelvic health or Urology experience, but this is not required for consideration.

Responsibilities

  • Perform history and physicals, comprehensive review of systems, and thorough chart reviews.
  • Prescribe medications/therapies and order diagnostic tests; perform minor therapeutic procedures; provide peri-operative evaluations.
  • Function at a high level of autonomy with close MD availability for decisions.
  • Outpatient focus will be female urology and pelvic health; some inpatient responsibilities and future OR first-assisting.
  • Consultations predominantly in-person with potential virtual options in the future.

Job description

University of Minnesota Physicians seeks an enthusiastic, independent Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join a growing Urology team in the Twin Cities.

Practice Details
  • The candidate will be required to perform history and physicals, comprehensive review of systems, and thorough chart reviews as well as prescribing medications/ therapies, ordering diagnostic tests, performing minor therapeutic procedures, and providing peri-operative evaluations.
  • Function at a very high level of autonomy. Although independent, this candidate will resource close MD availability in decision making.
  • Practice will incorporate majority outpatient with some inpatient responsibilities as well as future possibility for OR first-assisting.
  • Outpatient focus will be female urology and pelvic health. Clinic will be primarily in M Health Fairview Edina with outreach clinics in the East Metropolitan area.
  • Consultations will be predominantly in-person with virtual options in the future.
  • Inpatient responsibilities will include post-operative assessments, rounding on an inpatient Urology cohort, and completing hospital or ED consults at the M Health Fairview Woodwinds and M Health Fairview St. John’s Hospitals.
  • Work 40 hours per week, schedule varying between 7AM -5PM Monday through Friday. Will include some weekends and holidays. May include infrequent cross–coverage responsibilities at other M Health hospitals, such as Southdale. With appropriate notification, specific hours/days may be adjusted to support patient, clinic and staff needs.
