Job summary

University of Minnesota Physicians in Minneapolis, MN is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team. The role provides primary, inpatient, and consult services for patients with liver conditions.

You will perform exams, order tests, interpret results, prescribe medications, and collaborate with hepatologists to coordinate care. Strong emphasis on interdisciplinary teamwork and compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited PA or NP program.
• Current MN RN license with prescriptive authority or PA license with MN prescriptive authority.
• ANCC/AANP certification or NCCPA certification.

Job description

University of Minnesota Physicians is seeking a Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner to join our Hepatology team in Minneapolis, MN.

In this role, you will:

• Coordinate and facilitate the delivery of care to patients with a variety of liver conditions.
• Perform physical examinations and preventive health measures.
• Order, interpret, and evaluate diagnostic tests to identify and assess patients' clinical problems and health care needs.
• Recommend treatment and prescribe medication.
• Consult with physicians (as needed) and make appropriate referrals for evaluation or treatment.

Location: M Health - Fairview Clinic and Surgery Center in Minneapolis.

Schedule:

1.0 FTE Weekdays

Position Qualifications:

• A qualified candidate will be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing and formal Adult, Adult/Gero, Acute Care, or FNP Nurse Practitioner training program or a graduate of an accredited Physician's Assistant program. Have a current MN RN license and be approved or eligible by the Minnesota Board of Nursing for prescription writing privileges or a current PA license with prescriptive authority through the MN Board of Medical Practice. Be certified through ANCC/AANP or eligible for ANCC/AANP national exam or through the NCCPA and meet threshold criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and Privileges.

Preferred Qualifications:

• A minimum of 1 year experience as an inpatient PA or NP in hepatology. New graduates will be considered.
