Job summary

Mayo Clinic in Phoenix, AZ seeks an Oncology Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join the GI Oncology team. The role involves collaborating with MDs and allied staff to deliver comprehensive cancer care, including assessments, ordering tests, treatment planning, and patient education.

Candidates should have 1–2 years of oncology experience, be licensed in Arizona (RN/APRN or PA) with relevant certifications, and hold BLS/ACLS (DEA preferred).

Qualifications

  • 1–2 years of NP or PA oncology experience required; new graduates will not be considered.
  • For NPs: Masters-prepared, AZ RN and APRN license and certification as FNP/ANP/AGPCNP.
  • For PAs: Graduate of an accredited PA program; current PA certification by NCCPA and AZ Board registration.
  • Active BLS and ACLS certification; DEA registration required.

  • Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Formulate a diagnostic impression.
  • Develop and implement a treatment plan.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions.

  • Offer counseling and education to meet patient needs.
