Job summary

Hattiesburg Clinic is seeking a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to serve as a primary health care provider across ambulatory, hospital, and long-term care settings. The FNP or PA delivers comprehensive nursing and medical services, diagnosing and managing acute and chronic illnesses, ordering tests, and prescribing therapies.

Candidates must have a Master\'s in Nursing or PA program, complete clinical hours, hold Mississippi license as FNP or PA, with ACLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Successful completion of a Masters in Nursing or Physician Assistant program.
• Must have completed the required clinical practice hours of the accredited university.
• Current Mississippi license to practice as a FNP or PA license; ACLS certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide primary health care across ambulatory, hospital, and long-term care settings.
• Diagnose and manage acute and chronic illnesses; promote health and disease prevention.
• Order, conduct, and interpret diagnostic tests; prescribe pharmacologic and nonpharmacologic therapies.

POSITION SUMMARY:

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant is a primary health care provider who practices in ambulatory, hospital, and long-term care settings. The FNP or PA provides nursing and medical services to individuals, families, and groups. The FNP or PA diagnoses and manages acute episodic and chronic illnesses as well as promotes health and disease prevention. Services include, but are not limited to ordering, conducting, and interpreting diagnostic and laboratory tests, and prescription of pharmacologic agents and nonpharmacologic therapies. Teaching and counseling individuals, families, and groups are a part of nurse practitioner/physician assistant practice.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education/Skills: Successfulcompletion of a Masters in Nursing program or Physician Assistant program. Must havesuccessfully completed the required clinical practice hours of the accredited university.

Certification/Licensure: A current license to practice professional nursing in the State of Mississippi as a FNP or current Physician Assistant license. Also, prefer a current certification in ACLS.
