Job Background:

The student wellness center is located on the campus of a no-cost education and career technical training program administered by the U.S. Department of Labor that helps adolescents and young adults improve the quality of their lives through career technical and academic training. The hours at the clinic fall between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm. Immediate start.

Job Description:

Here is a list of some of the standard primary and acute care managed at the clinic;

• school physical exams, minor sports injuries, hypertension, diabetes, ADHD, GERD, UTIs, URIs, STDs, sprains, allergies, wellness exams, sick visits .
• Collaboration with Mid-Levels, center's medical staff, wellness staff and substance abuse specialists as necessary.

Role Description

This is a ongoing contract role for a Locum NP/PA with The Locums Company, LLC at the Boxelder Job Corps Center in Nemo, SD . The Locums NP/PA will work on-site to provide physical exams and minor acute medical care to student patients ages 16-24 years. We offer excellent compensation, and professional liability insurance.

Job Requirement:

• Active and unrestricted state medical license in South Dakota
• Experience in providing medical care to adolescent patients, including performing medical procedures and prescribing medications
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Willingness to work 8 hours per week (flexible)
• Prior experience as a locums physician is a plus
• Valid Federal DEA license
