Acadia Healthcare’s Duffy's Napa Valley Rehab in Calistoga, CA is seeking a full-time Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to support psychiatric care. You will perform medical evaluations and contribute to comprehensive treatment plans in collaboration with the medical staff.

Under the Medical Director and state licensure guidelines, you may order tests, diagnose conditions, prescribe medications, and provide ongoing patient care.

Qualifications

  • Master's in Nursing and Nurse Practitioner program completed.
  • Clinical experience with the patient population served by the facility.
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner and state licensure required.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness independently or with a team.
  • Develop and implement Master Treatment Plans for patients.
  • Assess physical and psychiatric health and determine care measures.
  • Document observations, evaluations and treatments per facility guidelines.
  • Collaborate with physicians and staff to ensure high‑quality care.
  • May order or interpret tests and prescribe medication as allowed.

Overview

Location: Duffy's Napa Valley Rehab, 3076 Myrtledale Road, Calistoga, CA 94515Position: Part-Time, 10 am - 6 pm

Compensation Range: $90-$110 per hour

Duffy’s Napa Valley Rehab offers an integrated program to treat individuals struggling with substance abuse and co-occurring mental health disorders. Our treatment model incorporates a combination of evidence-based practices that include CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, Trauma-informed, and 12 Step programming. At Duffy’s, we believe the key to recovery is building a strong therapeutic community that helps individuals focus on healthy relationships and participation. Our program is designed to have the flexibility to meet each person’s needs on their journey to recovery.

We are currently seeking to add a Full-Time, Addiction Medicine Nurse Practitioner or PA to support our patients receiving specialized psychiatric care. Autonomous is preferred.

About the role:

Provide medical evaluations and treatment of patients at facility under the supervision of the Medical Director and work collaboratively with the medical/clinical staff under the guidelines of state licensure for Nurse Practitioners.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and treat acute, episodic or chronic illness, independently or as part of a healthcare team.
  • Participate in the formulation of patient Master Treatment Plan
  • Assess physical and psychiatric health of patient and formulate measures to meet patient needs.
  • Chart clinical observation (direct or through dictation), evaluations and treatment of patient in required time according to facility guidelines.
  • Communicate with physicians and other staff as necessary to provide quality care for patient within appropriate guidelines.
  • Encourage family involvement in patient care. Respond to identified patient and family educational needs.
  • Support and follow legal requirements, hospital policy and procedures, medical staff bylaws and regulatory requirements.
  • Provide services that are in accordance with the state guidelines for Nurse Practitioners.
  • Provide on-call responsibilities on scheduled basis directed by medical staff.
  • May focus on health promotion and disease prevention. May order, perform or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab work and x-rays. May prescribe medication.
  • Demonstrate a positive, empathetic and professional attitude towards customers always. When patient needs are not met, acknowledge and work to resolve complaints. Recognize that patient safety is a top priority.
Qualifications
  • Master's in Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program required.
  • Clinical experience working with the patient population of the facility; ability to demonstrate knowledge of concepts of limit setting, therapeutic boundaries, crisis management, therapeutic treatment, environment and patient care required.
  • Minimum of 1 year experience as a Practicing Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Licenses/Certifications:
  • Board Certified Nurse Practitioner required.
  • Licensed to practice in the state in which the facility operates.
  • DEA license.
