Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited program.
• Current California NP license.
• Board certification as NP (FNP/AGNP/ACNP preferred).
• DEA certification and furnishing license required.
• Experience in breast health or oncology preferred.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with benign breast conditions and breast cancer.
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor progress.
• Order, interpret, and review diagnostic studies including imaging and pathology results.
• Provide pre-operative, post-operative, and follow-up care for breast surgery patients.
• Educate patients and families regarding diagnoses, options, medications, and follow-up care.
• Collaborate with surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, and care coordinators to provide comprehensive care.
• Document encounters accurately within the EMR system.

Adventist Health AIS Cancer Center is seeking a compassionate and motivated Nurse Practitioner (NP) to join our growing Breast Health team in Bakersfield, California. This provider will work collaboratively with breast surgeons, oncologists, radiologists, nurse navigators, and clinical staff to deliver exceptional, patient-centered care to patients with benign and malignant breast conditions in a supportive and mission-driven environment.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate, diagnose, and manage patients with benign breast conditions and breast cancer
• Conduct comprehensive patient assessments, develop treatment plans, and monitor patient progress

Qualifications

• Master’s degree or higher in Nursing from an accredited program
• Current California Nurse Practitioner license
• Board certification as a Nurse Practitioner (FNP, AGNP, or ACNP preferred)
• DEA certification and furnishing license required
• Previous experience in breast health, oncology, women’s health, surgical services, or related specialty preferred
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced clinical environment

Preferred Skills

• Experience caring for patients with breast disease and breast cancer
• Knowledge of breast imaging, breast cancer treatment pathways, and survivorship care?
• Experience with pre-operative and post-operative patient management
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach to care
