Job summary

Tenet Healthcare in Harlingen, TX invites an experienced Nurse Practitioner to join a leading Neuroscience program known for exceptional patient care and strong community reputation.

The RNP will provide outpatient clinic support with inpatient rounding as needed, under physician supervision, and will collaborate with a team of 3 physicians and an APP.

Qualifications

Job Summary

Join a leading Neuroscience program known for its exceptional patient care and strong community reputation. We are seeking a Registered Nurse Practitioner (RNP) to provide support in an outpatient clinic setting with inpatient rounding as needed.

Position Details

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm.

Team: 3 qualified Physicians and 1 Advanced Practice Provider (APP).

All levels of experience welcome; prior Neuro experience is a plus.

Qualifications
  • Current certification as a Nurse Practitioner.
  • License to practice in the state of employment.
  • CPR certified.
  • DEA registration with the state.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast‑paced, multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong communication skills and commitment to high‑quality patient care.
Responsibilities

Under the direction of a physician, the RNP provides direct patient care, including:

  • Gathering detailed history and performing physical examinations.
  • Ordering, performing, and interpreting diagnostic tests and laboratory studies.
  • Administering therapeutic procedures and providing clinical education to patients.
  • Maintaining accurate manual and electronic records (EMR) and written charts.
  • Participating in quality improvement, utilization review, and safety committee activities.
  • Meeting compliance requirements and reporting issues in a timely manner.
  • Assisting with physician‑assistant services and other duties as assigned.
Education

Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing, Nurse Practitioner program.

Experience

Any level is acceptable; prior neuro‑related experience is preferred.

Certifications

Must be currently licensed, certified, or registered to practice as a Nurse Practitioner in the state. Additional certifications as required by governing boards and facility medical staff bylaws are preferred.
