This associate-level role focuses on evaluating and managing patients with neurological conditions, performing assessments, ordering tests, and developing individualized treatment plans under physician supervision.

A collaborative clinical environment supports high-quality, patient-centered care. The position emphasizes 20% inpatient and 80% outpatient work, with 5-day weeks, on-site NYC

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
• Current, unrestricted state licensure and national certification (e.g., ANCC or NCCPA)
• Board-certified in neurology-related scope; ACLS/BLS/CSR/DEA required

Responsibilities

• Conduct histories, neurological examinations, and clinical assessments.
• Diagnose and manage neurological conditions across inpatient and outpatient settings.
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies (EEG, EMG/NCS, imaging, labs).
• Develop evidence-based treatment plans including medication management.
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, options, and self-management.
• Coordinate care with neurologists and interdisciplinary teams.
• Maintain accurate documentation in the EMR and ensure continuity of care.

Description

This full-time, on-site position offers the opportunity to deliver high-quality, patient-centered neurological care within a collaborative clinical environment.

In this Associate-level role, you will evaluate and manage patients with neurological conditions, perform clinical assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop individualized treatment plans under the supervision of a physician, as required by your scope of practice. You will work closely with neurologists, nursing staff, and other healthcare professionals to ensure continuity of care and positive patient outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient histories, neurological examinations, and clinical assessments
• Diagnose and manage common and complex neurological conditions such as headaches, epilepsy, stroke, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson's disease, and peripheral neuropathy
• Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic studies including EEG, EMG/NCS, imaging, and laboratory tests
• Develop and implement evidence-based treatment plans, including medication management
• Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment options, and self-management strategies
• Collaborate with neurologists and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate patient care
• Perform follow-up visits and monitor patient progress and response to treatment
• Document patient encounters accurately and maintain compliant electronic health records
• Refer patients to specialists and community resources when appropriate
• Adhere to clinical guidelines, regulatory requirements, and practice protocols

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program
• Current, unrestricted state licensure and national certification (e.g., ANCC or NCCPA)
• Prior experience in neurology or a related clinical setting preferred
• Strong knowledge of neurological disorders, diagnostics, and pharmacological management
• Proficiency with electronic health record systems
• Excellent clinical judgment, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with patients and healthcare teams
• Compassionate, patient-focused approach with a commitment to quality care
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment

Schedule: 5-day workweek

No call or weekends

Setting: 20% inpatient and 80% outpatient

Duties: Manage inpatient neurology consults, diagnose and treat outpatient neurological conditions, and interpret diagnostic studies

Multidisciplinary support teams

EMR: Epic

1-2 years of experience required

Must be board-certified

ACLS, BLS, CSR and DEA required
