Job summary

Cortex TBI in Houston, TX is seeking a compassionate Nurse Practitioner to join our neurology-focused team as a direct W-2 employee. You will evaluate patients with traumatic brain injuries, post-concussion syndrome, headaches, dizziness, and related symptoms, conducting histories, exams, and developing treatment plans.

The role emphasizes collaboration with physicians and therapists, order and interpret tests, prescribe when authorized, and maintain HIPAA-compliant documentation.

Qualifications

• Active Nurse Practitioner license in the state where patient care will be provided.
• Current national board certification through an appropriate recognized certifying organization.
• Master's degree or doctoral degree in nursing from an accredited program.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain it within the required timeframe.
• Experience conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and providing follow-up care.
• Strong clinical assessment, critical-thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain accurate clinical records and manage multiple patient care responsibilities.
• Commitment to patient-centered care, professional ethics, confidentiality, and evidence-based practice.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with physicians and multidisciplinary healthcare professionals.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive patient consultations and obtain detailed medical histories.
• Perform physical examinations and focused neurological assessments.
• Develop individualized assessment and treatment plans based on findings.
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests within scope.
• Monitor patient response and adjust care plans as needed.
• Educate patients about conditions, outcomes, and follow-up care.
• Coordinate care with neurologists, physicians, therapists, and other team members.
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation and ensure HIPAA compliance.
