Job summary

Penn State Health Milton Hershey Medical Center is seeking an Advanced Lung Center Nurse Practitioner to deliver specialized outpatient care for pulmonary hypertension, fibrosis, and other lung diseases. SUMMARY OF POSITION:

The Advanced Lung Center Nurse Practitioner provides specialized outpatient care for patients with pulmonary hypertension, pulmonary fibrosis, and other advanced pulmonary diseases. Working collaboratively with Advanced Lung Care Physicians, the Nurse Practitioner conducts comprehensive evaluations, develops and implements treatment plans, monitors disease progression, and coordinates multidisciplinary care. Responsibilities include managing clinic schedules, ordering and interpreting diagnostic testing, providing patient and family education, optimizing medical therapies, and ensuring adherence to evidence-based guidelines.

The Nurse Practitioner serves as a key member of the Advanced Lung Care team, promoting high-quality, patient-centered care while supporting timely access, improved outcomes, and continuity of care for patients with complex pulmonary conditions.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

• Either Master's Degree in a Critical Care or Acute Care Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one (1) year CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in applicable specialty) required and three (3) years critical care experience as a staff nurse required; or Master's Degree in a General Nurse Practitioner Program with a minimum of one (1) year CRNP experience (which could include clinical rotations or relevant clinical experience in applicable specialty) and five (5) years critical care experience as a staff nurse required.
• Currently licensed to practice as a CRNP by Pennsylvania Board of Nurse Examiners required.
• National certification as an advanced practice nurse required.
• Must possess knowledge of appropriate critical care, to include advanced cardiac life support and basic cardiopulmonary life support certification.
