Job description

Responsibilities

The hospitalist nurse practitioner will provide patient services under the supervision of the hospitalist. The APN/PA can consult with the supervising hospitalist or the backup supervisor at all times, in accordance with state regulations and hospital bylaws. The role involves working both autonomously and collaboratively to meet healthcare needs. The position reports to the St. Vincent hospitalist medical director.

1. Contribute to the mission and strategic initiatives of St. Vincent Health System by providing medical care under the supervision of a hospitalist.
2. Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' medical, physical, and psychological statuses, develop care plans, implement treatments, and provide education and counseling.
3. Work within the scope of practice defined by state regulations and the collaborative agreement with the supervising physician.
4. Maintain confidentiality, infection control, safety, and all hospital policies and procedures.

Qualifications

• Experience as a hospital-based nurse practitioner or physician assistant is preferred but not required.
• Current Nurse Practitioner Licensure in Arkansas, with Acute Care certification.
• Collaborative agreement with a supervising physician.
• DEA certification and ability to maintain it.
• ACLS certification or instructor certification required upon hire.
