Responsibilities

The Physician Assistant is a licensed professional who works under the supervision and direction of collaborating physicians or the Medical Director for the Hospitalist program. They provide direct, comprehensive, preventative, and therapeutic healthcare to patients and families, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment, prescription, counseling, and instruction, in compliance with Provider Protocols and all regulations governing PAs.

The PA may provide healthcare for which they are educationally prepared and have attained and maintained competence. They are responsible for all aspects of the Hospitalist program's coordination, including fiscal accountability, time, and resources. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current PA licensure in Arkansas
• Documentation of satisfactory completion of a PA educational program and preceptorship, compliant with the Medical Board
• Acute Care certification
• Eligibility for a Medicare provider number and DEA registration
• Experience in provider-patient care
