Mass General Brigham Medical Group Northern Massachusetts, Inc. is seeking a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner to provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to patients with mental health disorders.

The NP will order tests, interpret results, and develop care plans with thorough documentation and follow-up, on a 40-hour on-site schedule. Typical duties include comprehensive histories, physical exams, medication management, and collaboration with interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in Nursing required.
• Clinical Nurse Specialist (Psychiatric PCNS - Massachusetts) license required by Massachusetts Board of Nursing.
• Experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.

Job Summary

The Nurse Practitioner (NP) is a licensed provider. The NP is responsible for the assessment and management of various populations of patients, including diagnostic and therapeutic interventions, development of appropriate plans of care and ongoing evaluation. This position is a Psychiatric NP and focuses on providing care to patients with mental health disorders. The NP provides direct care, counseling, and teaching to a designated patient population. Performs complete histories and physical examinations. Orders, interprets, and evaluates appropriate laboratory and diagnostic tests. Develops appropriate plans of care and follow-up based on the outcomes of diagnostic, laboratory, and physical examination findings. Orders medications and writes prescriptions according to organizational and regulatory policies and procedures. Consistently provides high quality and timely documentation including admission and progress notes, procedure notes, operative notes and discharge summaries. Performs bedside procedures as are appropriate to the patient population. Performs other duties as assigned. Complies with all policies and standards.

Qualifications

• Education: Master's Degree Nursing required.
• Licenses and Credentials: Clinical Nurse Specialist [Psychiatric PCNS - Massachusetts] - Massachusetts Board of Nursing required.
• Experience: Experience as a Nurse Practitioner preferred.
