Qualifications

• Master’s degree in nursing with WV NP license and board certification in women’s health.
• Active NYS NP license and DEA license required.
• Certification in BLS/ACLS/NRP is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct history and physicals in outpatient setting for obstetric/gynecologic care.
• Provide referrals to other health professionals as needed.
• Initiate diagnostic procedures and in-office lab tests as required.
• Manage care throughout antepartal, labor, delivery, and postpartum periods.
• Monitor pregnancy progression and coordinate follow-up visits.

The Bedford-Stuyvesant Family Health Center (BSFHC) is a patient-centered, team based multi-specialty practice in central Brooklyn. BSFHC has been providing affordable, comprehensive, outpatient medical and dental services in an outpatient setting for over 40 years. As a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), BSFHC serves all of the primary health care needs of families in the heart of North and Central Brooklyn. We have an opportunity for a Nurse Practitioner in Women's Health to Provides a full range of direct and collaborative obstetrical and gynecological health care services for women in a variety of clinical settings. Utilizes advanced clinical knowledge and expertise to provide ongoing physical and emotional care, support, education, and counseling to women and their families transitioning throughout the childbearing cycle inclusive of, family planning services, preconception care, care during pregnancy, childbirth and postpartum period.

Job Responsibilities:

• Conducts complete history and physical examinations/health assessments of patients and families with real or potential, acute, and/or chronic health problems in the outpatient setting.
• Provides referrals to other health professionals and community agencies, as needed.
• Initiates selected therapeutic and diagnostic procedures (including non-stress testing and biophysical profiles), consultation, and laboratory examinations, as needed.
• Provides maximum continuity of care for patients and families transitioning throughout the phases of antepartal, labor, delivery, post-partal, family planning-intercontraceptional care periods.
• Responsible for the management of patient throughout the maternity cycle.
• Follows progress of pregnancy in the office and connect with patients in labor and delivery to ensure the patients have followup and pediatric visits.
• Examines patients.
• Performs related duties as required.

Education/Experience Required:

• Master’s degree - Accredited School
• NYS NPWH Active license
• Board Certification required
• Clinical OBGYN experience, hospital experience preferred
• DEA License
• Current American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification, required.
• Infection Control Certificate
• Opioid Certification
